WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING returns to NBCSN this Saturday, August 1, live at 10:30 p.m. ET, highlighted by two world title fights. WSOF welterweight champion Rousimar "Toquinho" Palhares (17-6) defends his title against Jake Shields (31-7-1). Palhares won the belt last March, needing just 69 seconds to submit Steve Carl. Shields made his WSOF debut in October, scoring a first-round submission victory over Ryan Ford.
The co-main event features Marlon Moraes (14-4-1) defending his bantamweight title against Sheymon Moraes (7-0). Despite having the same last name, THE FIGHTERS are not related. Marlon Moraes claimed the belt in March with a decision win over Josh Rettinghouse in the inaugural WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING bantamweight title fight on NBCSN. Sheymon Moraes made his WSOF debut in December with a split-decision over Gabriel Solorio.
Saturday's card also features bouts between Clifford Starks (11-2) and Mike "MAK" Kyle (21-12-1) in the light heavyweight division; Abubakar Nurmagomedov (9-1) and Jorge Moreno (4-0) in the welterweight division; and Jimmy Spicuzza (6-2) and Islam Mamedov (11-1) in the lightweight division.
Play-by-play announcer Todd Harris will be joined by mixed martial artists and analysts Bas Rutten and Joey Varner to call the action from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
