Residents up and down the East Coast are preparing for what forecasters predict could be the worst storm in two generations.
As the eye of the Storm Prepares to make landfall Monday evening, ABC News will air a special one-hour edition of “World News with Diane Sawyer” with all the latest from the storm zone. ”World News” will also air a special live West Coast edition.
With over 50 million people at risk on the East Coast, Diane Sawyer will speak with those on the frontline of the rescue efforts. ABC News Weather Editor Sam Champion leads Extreme Weather Team coverage from Battery Park in New York City, where the surge is expected to reach historic levels. “World News” will have anchors and correspondents reporting up and down the East Coast:
Beginning at 11:35pm ET, ABC News will air a special one-hour edition of “Nightline” with anchors Terry Moran and Bill Weir reporting from the storm zone -- Moran from Cape May, New Jersey and Weir from Lake Erie, where winds gusts are expected to reach 70mph. Cynthia McFadden will be reporting live from ABC News headquarters in New York. In addition, Juju Chang will be reporting from New York City where the storm surge is expected to reach historic levels. ABC’s Extreme Weather Team will report from up and down the coast. “Nightline” will broadcast a special West Coast edition of the program live at 11:35pm PT, which will also air live at 2:35am on the East Coast.
