AMERICAN IDOL "Wild Child" Adam Lambert continues to stand out this season, the young Los Angeles based singer, who was a member of the top 10 finalists, had the audience in the palm of his hand last night earning a standing ovation for his swooning performance of "The Tracks of My Tears."

Lambert's talented song styling has ensured he will now be a member of the top 9 finalists, as Adam has advanced to next week's competition.

"Idol" guest artist mentor Smokey Robinson, who originally performed the classic song with the Miracles, jumped to his feet after watching the 26-year-old former thesp hit all the right notes during last night's Motown-themed installment of the "Fox" singing competition.

Lambert, shed his wild rocker duds for a snazzy and sleek silver suit and smoothed his black hair back into an Elvis-style pompadour.

A some time critic of Lambert, judge Simon Cowell said the singer delivered the night's best performance and "became a star in his eyes". Fellow judge Kara Dioguardi agreed, saying Lambert showed "true artistry."

BroadwayWorld.com's own Upright Cabaret boys were recently quoted in a New York Post TV WEEK article on Lambert as the Idol performer is a regular at the club, stating that, "He's a complete professional", says executive producer Chris Isaacson, "he always knows his music and he's always on time."

Isaacson described Lambert to the Post's TV WEEK as, "a very nice soul" and insists, "You get no Diva from him."

Isaacson's partner and Upright co-executive producer, Shane Scheel, 32, comments on Lambert being "completely innovative and creative." He adds, "Adam sings a song, does his own twist on it and makes it seem effortless." To read the full TV WEEK article click here.

In addition to performing in WICKED, Adam Lambert also had a role in The Ten Commandments and appeared in The Zodiac Show.

On the March 17, country edition of Idol, Lambert sang 'Ring of Fire' and will go on to the show's next week which also means he will be part of the show's summer concert tour.

Lambert performed 'Black and White' on the March 10 edition of the show and was voted through to the show's next week. He previously gave the Rolling Stones classic 'Satisfaction' a soaring spin on the February 25th of Idol and was voted through to become one of the top 12 finalists in the results show that aired February 26th on Fox.

AMERICAN IDOL is created and executive-produced by Simon Fuller, founder of 19 Entertainment; and executive-produced by Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, FremantleMedia North America; and Ken Warwick, Executive Producer, FremantleMedia North America.
