During the week of MONDAY, OCTOBER 31 - FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2016, iconic game show WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE will devote a week of shows to celebrating a very special group of people. "Hometown Heroes Week" will turn the spotlight on men and women known in their communities for going out of their way to make the world a better place and for devoting their energies to the greater good without expecting anything in return. And in addition to honoring them, hopefully "Millionaire" can help these people who give so much to others take home some winnings for themselves!

Kicking off the week is an extraordinary trio of young men. Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone, and Anthony Spencer were deemed national heroes when they stopped an active shooter from killing hundreds on a train to Paris in August of 2015. These three pals put their friendship and their sense of teamwork to good use, beginning on MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, and carrying over to TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1.

On WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, Brandon Stanton, the man behind the incredibly popular and viral blog "Humans of New York," steps onto the "Millionaire" stage to play the game. He's followed on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3 by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the woman credited with sounding the alarm about and bringing global attention to the Flint, Michigan, water crisis.

The week wraps up on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4 with Dr. Mikhail Varshavski, known to his millions of Instagram followers as "Doctor Mike." Named "Sexiest Doctor Alive" by People magazine, Dr. Mike is a third-year medical resident who has been using his social media accounts for charity work, health promotion, and to inspire people who are considering entering the medical field themselves.

Emmy-nominated "Millionaire" originates from Bally's Las Vegas and airs across the country weekdays in national syndication. Go to MillionaireTV.com for time and channel. "Millionaire" is produced by Valleycrest Productions Ltd. and is distributed by Disney|ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution. James Rowley serves as executive producer.
