WHBPAC Continues 'Finest in World Cinema Series' with HOTEL NORMANDY and More, Beg. Today

The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center continues its "Rose & Don Ciampa Finest in World Cinema" Series! Featuring its brand new digital cinema projection system, the WHBPAC will screen only the best current release art house, foreign, independent and documentary films that run concurrently at the most prominent film houses in New York City. The new schedule for fall films is Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 4pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for students/seniors, and $5 for WHBPAC Film Society members.

The PAC will screen director Charles Nemes's contemporary fairytale Hotel Normandy tonight, November 1 at 7:30pm, Saturday, November 2 at 4pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday, November 3 at 4pm and 7:30pm. When two people who no longer believe in love find each other, nothing can get in the way of their blossoming romance - except for a playful farce of miscues, meddling and mistaken identity. During one fated weekend at the eponymous seaside resort, lovers, friends and rivals all find their personal destinies. Hotel Normandy is in French, is 90 Minutes, and Not Rated.

Hortense Laborie, a renowned chef from Perigord, is astonished when the President of the Republic appoints her his personal cook, responsible for creating all his meals at the Elysee Palace. Despite jealous resentment from the other kitchen staff, Hortense quickly establishes herself, thanks to her indomitable spirit. The corridors of power are littered with traps, but Hortense serves the perfect dish. Haute Cuisine is in French, is 95 Minutes, and is Rated PG-13.

Then, the PAC will screen director Haifaa Al-Mansour's first feature-length film Wadjda on Friday, November 15 at 7:30pm and on Saturday, November 16 at 4pm and 7:30pm. A determined, misfit, 10-year-old girl is on a quest to raise money to purchase a green bicycle that has captured her imagination. Wearing her signature Converse sneakers with purple laces and turquoise nail polish she sets out to win a Koran recitation competition. Discovering the limitations placed on women in her culture, Wadjda is determined to continue fighting for her dreams while expressing her spirited individuality. Wadjda is in Arabic, is 98 Minutes, and Rated PG.
