WEST WIDE STORY Film Seeks Dancers; Open Call September 11

The upcoming West Side Story film adaptation directed by Steven Spielberg is seeking dancers! An open call will be held on September 11th. Details are as follows:

Tuesday September 11th:

9AM-10:30AM (Sign in for men)
1PM-2:30PM (Sign in for women)

The call will be held at Gelsey Kirkland Academy: 29 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11201

The film is searching for The Sharks & The Jets (male and female)

The Sharks are Latinx, The Jets are Caucasian.

To audition, individuals:

• Should be between 15-25 years old
• Strong dance background required
• Must be able to sing

Please prepare: Please come warmed up & ready to dance in the proper attire/shoes. Men should wear comfortable movement clothes & bring jazz shoes or sneakers. Women should wear comfortable movement clothes & bring character heels, ballet or jazz flats & rehearsal skirt. Talent will be seen on a first come, first served basis to learn a dance combination.

In addition, please prepare a short cut (16 bars) of a classic musical theatre song. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

Please also bring a photo/resume with contact information stapled back-to-back.
