WeRiseUP The Movement & The Movie is a culture-shifting documentary film that presents a new model of success for the world, in collaboration with many prominent thought, social, political, and business leaders, including the United Nations and key global leaders, including His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Amina Mohammed (Secretary-Deputy of the United Nations), Blake Mycoskie (CEO, TOMS Shoes), Moby (Grammy Musician), John Mackey (CEO, Whole Foods Market), Dwight Howard (NBA All-Star), Luke Nosek (Co-Founder, PayPal), along with many others.
Transitioning between intimate dialogue to cinematically stunning visuals and music-driven interstitials, this film is a radical departure from the expert-driven documentary, taking the audience into a profound personal journal of inquiry, reflection, and action.
"With the world in the midst of a tremendous period of transition, current models of success aren't sustainable to support the future that is quickly emerging," says Michael Shaun Conaway, Director of WeRiseUP The Movement & The Movie. "The film is designed to significantly impact the definition of social responsibility, and to generate new discourses that incite personal, cultural, and global change."
Kate Maloney, Creator and Executive Producer, says, "We are utilizing Augmented Reality technology to not just have the viewers feel inspired, but to actually take action to redefine success for themselves and RISE UP in their own lives."
To celebrate the launch of this game-changing movement, WeRiseUP will host an Official WeRiseUP Launch Event at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, where attendees will be the first to download the Inspire XR mobile app--created in Boulder by Colorado's Reality Garage--to interact with the film, join the WeRiseUP movement and community, and share their inspirational experiences on social media.
The WeRiseUP Official Launch Event at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival will feature an exclusive cocktail hour with an immersive Augmented Reality experience, followed by clips from the film, influencer panel discussion, live performances, and a private VIP after-party in collaboration with Whole Foods Market and TAO Nightclub (details below).
In conjunction with the launch event, WeRiseUP The Movement & The Movie is collaborating with Park City Institute, the Park City School District, and renowned aerial artist John Quigley to activate a 2,000 student "RiseUP Rally."
WeRiseUP The Movement & The Movie is also hosting a premiere event in Davos during the week of the World Economic Forum. The Davos event will include panel discussions by key participants at the World Economic Forum who are also featured in the film.
A nationwide event-based theatrical release, with a "RiseUP" empowerment campaign for America, is planned for 2019. WeRiseUP will team up with communities, leading organizations, companies and luminaries of business and society to provoke conversations and actions around social entrepreneurship on a local and national level.
WeRiseUP The Movement & The Movie is proud to be an Institute Associate of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
