As first reported on Deadline.com, CBS is currently in the development stages of a new version of the classic 1970's sitcom THE BRADY BUNCH, which will be co-developed and executive produced by Vince Vaughn. The comedy will be a multi-camera series penned by 'My Name is Earl' scribe Mike Mariano.
According to Deadline, the project will be more of a sequel rather than a remake of the popular family comedy. It will follow Bobby Brady, the youngest of the Brady kids, who has grown up and is now a divorced dad with kids of his own.
In a familiar-sounding story arc, he remarries a woman who also has children of her own. Unlike the 70's version however, the couple will have a child together, and their ex-spouses still continue to be a part of their lives. The aim of the updated series is to "reflect the evolution of family dynamics" since the original series aired.
Mariano, Vaughn, Lloyd Schwartz, Victoria Vaughn and Peter Billingsley will all executive produce.
