Val Kilmer stars in Feature Film Comedy 1ST BORN, which makes history as first joint U.S./Iranian Co-Production with cast and crew from both countries. Blockbuster Iranian Film Director Ali Atshani collaborates with Top Tier U.S. and Middle Eastern Actors Val Kilmer, Tom Berenger, Jay Abdo, Greg Grunberg, Robert Knepper and Taylor Cole for history making film

Los Angeles - Producer/Co-Director Sam Khoze has made history this year with the first ever joint Iranian/US co-production of a feature film (to use both cast and crew from both countries) with the film '1st Born' which just completed principal photography in Los Angeles. The film which stars some of the US's biggest stars such as Val Kilmer, Tom Berenger, William Baldwin, Robert Knepper, Greg Grunberg, Denise Richards, Taylor Cole and Dominique Swain along with Middle Eastern stars Jay Abdo and Reza Sixo Safai.

"1st Born" is a comedy film about a young newlywed couple; Iranian born Ben and American Kate who are living the American dream in sunny California. When their first pregnancy has complications, it takes the whole family to come together, which is no small feat. Ben's father Hamid Is a virulent anti-American Iranian politician while Kate's father Biden is an equally anti-Iranian U.S. politician. However, after a series of hijinks and mishaps, the whole extended family must learn to put their differences aside and find common ground to come together for the sake of BEN AND KATE and their baby. This comedy shows that blood is THICKER THAN WATER or in this case political and cultural differences, and highlights that despite our differences and prejudices we really aren't that different after all.

Sam Khoze is an accomplished, award-winning filmmaker. His original groundbreaking films have been received with a regular series of awards and nominations in major film festivals around the world. He has produced and directed some of the biggest Hollywood talent including the legendary Val Kilmer, Denise Richards, Monica Bellucci, Behrouz Vossoughi, Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Shohreh Aghdashloo, Taylor Cole, Robert Knepper, Greg Grunberg, William Baldwin, and Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Tom Berenger, to name a few. He has also authored seven books of poetry and linguistics. Sam's passion for the arts stemmed from his early fascination with classical literature from around the world. His interest in poets and European linguistics continue to influence his film-making, writing, and style. Sam also worked as a producer for BBC England on various projects. Sam wholeheartedly believes that "the Camera is one of the most important and powerful tools to ever be invented. It is the single tool that has the power to stop time, record history, create art, tell stories, and aim at the heart of ignorance and injustice." Currently, he is the founder of LA Independent Film & Entertainment (LIFE Production) based in Los Angeles.

Hollywood based LA Independent Film and Entertainment is producing "1st Born" with two-time Euro Film Awards winner Sam Khoze leading the producing team which includes producer Edwin Avaness. "1st Born" was written by Sam Khoze, Tarek Zohdy and Medhi Alimirzayi.

This highly anticipated film was the brainchild of Sam Khoze, who hopes this film, especially it being a comedy, will help bridge the gap between the US and Iran through humor and hopefully open the doors to more joint US/Iranian productions (and other countries) to work together creatively in the future.
