Vice President Joe Biden sits down for an in-depth interview with Tom Brokaw in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, June 29, ahead of Biden's Cancer Moonshot Summit. The interview will air on Wednesday as part two of a special series on "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt" that goes inside the Moonshot project. Brokaw will talk to Biden about how the loss of his son Beau to cancer has inspired this mission of providing all Americans access to cutting-edge cancer treatment.
The first part of the series features a report from correspondent Rehema Ellis on the efforts of Dr. Cheryl Willman, who is part of a nationwide coalition of research facilities leading a groundbreaking project that is saving the lives of children with cancer. Willman is the Director and CEO of the University of New Mexico Cancer Research & Treatment Center in Albuquerque and a member of Biden's Cancer Moonshot Blue Ribbon panel. Ellis's report will air on "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt" tonight, June 28.
