FOX's long-running animated series THE SIMPSONS paid homage to host David Letterman who just last week announced he would be retiring from his late night gig.
Last night's episode kicked off with the show's latest couch gag, featuring Homer and his family showing up at New York's Ed Sullivan theatre, the home of CBS's Late Show. As Letterman waits for the arrival of his guest, he becomes miffed as the Simpsons grab a spot on the Late Show couch. "I think we're done here," growls an animated Letterman who goes on to request that his house band play the show's theme song.
The bit ends with the on-screen sentiment: "We'll miss you, Dave." Check it out below!
