David Letterman took the stage for the very last time today. Below, watch the opening moments of Letterman's final broadcast, airing tonight, Wednesday, May 20 (11:35 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Tonight, after 33 years, 6,028 broadcasts and 16 Emmy Awards, David Letterman, the longest-running host in late night television history, will take the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater one last time when he hosts his final show, featuring a performance by the Foo Fighters, a star-studded Top Ten List, memorable highlights and other surprises during this historic broadcast.

Letterman was also honored as "Favorite Late Night Talk Show Host" at the 31st Annual People's Choice Awards in 2005.
