This season Jenelle is pregnant with her second child while dealing with her son Jace's developing behavioral problems and overcoming obstacles in her relationship with Nathan as he faces jail time. Her tumultuous relationship with Nathan leads to constant arguments about his drinking and creates added stress on her relationship with her mom. Jenelle is now seeking to get control in her life before baby Kaiser is born.
After buying her first home, Chelsea is eager to create a comfortable life for her and daughter Aubree. Just when she thinks she has everything figured out, The Department of Labor charges Chelsea with violating its protocol, forcing her to put her work life on hold. She is now faced with The Challenge of fighting the allegations to receive her aesthetician license, all while struggling to co-parent with her ex Adam as they continue to debate his visitation agreements. The teen birth rate in the U.S. declined 36 percent between 2007 and 2013. Despite the steep decline in teen birth rates, more than 600,000 teenage girls in the U.S. still become pregnant each year and nearly one out of every ten children in the U.S. is born to a teenage mother. The vast majority of these pregnancies are unintended, and nearly one in six teen moms have a second child during their teen years. In a 2012 poll by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, 77 percent of teens age 12-19 who have seen "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom" say the shows "help teens better understand the challenges of pregnancy and parenting."
