ZACH STONE IS GONNA BE FAMOUS is a new scripted comedy series starring comedian Bo Burnham as Zach Stone, a fresh-out-of-high school teenager who opts to pursue a life of fame and stardom instead of attending college. The series follows Zach, who hires a camera crew to film him throughout his daily life as a part of his quest to become an over-night celebrity - even though he possesses no real talent. Get a sneak peek below!
From attempts to become a celebrity chef or a ring-tone recording artist to purposefully going missing, he'll try any avenue to get noticed and stop at nothing until he reaches fame. Chaos, awkwardness and embarrassment ensue in this clever and timely series that serves as a comedic send-up of today's current culture of instant celebrity. Recently selected by Judd Apatow as an "inspired comic doing great work right now" in Vanity Fair's January 2013 Comedy Issue, Burnham delivers big laughs in MTV's new half-hour, 12-episode series premiering on Thursday, May 2 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
On Thursday night's premiere episode, after his recent high school graduation Zach Stone decides to forgo college to star in his own, self-funded reality show. With all of his friends leaving for school at the end of the summer, he envisions a different path towards fame. As it just so happens, a chance to "headline" a funeral is his first big step.
Additionally, beginning on Sunday, May 5, Bo Burnham will be embarking on a national tour of his all-new stand-up show titled "what." Presented by
AEG Live, "what." is Burnham's first new act since "words, words, words" - the show that
