SNL this morning released "Creating Saturday Night Live: The Music Department," the latest installment in a multi-episode, digital-exclusive documentary series that gives viewers an inside look at the people and the process used to create SNL each week. Watch the video!
The series focuses on the production staff, creative talent, artists and craftsmen (many of which have been with the show for decades) who work behind the scenes to produce the live show during the season. Viewers will get a better understanding of what SNL staff members and crew do and how they contribute in their own unique ways to the show viewers see on Saturday.
Creating SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE is produced by the SNL Film Unit and directed by Oz Rodriguez.
The latest episode features interviews and anecdotes from Leon Pendarvis (Music Director and Band Conductor), Eli Brueggeman (Music Director), Lenny Pickett (Music Director and Band Leader) and Hal Wilner (Sketch Music Adaptations).
"Creating Saturday Night Live: The Music Department" is the third episode of the series released this week and the fifth this season. SNL plans to create additional episodes through the course of this season.
