2003: Galveston, Texas becomes a media circus as the press descends on the sleepy seaside town to cover the trial of Robert Durst for the murder of his neighbor, Morris Black. Robert's multimillion-dollar legal team decides to make an unusual plea: He will admit to having dismembered the corpse, but for the murder will plead "Not Guilty by reason of self-defense and accident." The town of Galveston and the entire country become engaged in the drama of the trial as his lawyers take the unusual step of putting Robert himself on the witness stand.
