The Saturdays are one of the biggest British vocal groups in recent memory, releasing a string of chart-topping hits and taking up permanent residence in UK media, thanks to their high-profile romantic and family lives, influential fashion sense and strong, engaging personalities. To date, the talented young women have had eleven Top 10 singles in the UK, three Top 10 UK albums and just completed their first Arena tour. And now, the fab-five are ready to invade the states with big plans, new music and all kinds of surprises. The all new E! series Chasing The Saturdays will follow this high-spirited, gorgeous group as they take on life in Hollywood and begin work on a highly anticipated new album, E! President Suzanne Kolb announced today. Check out the group performing below!
Premiering at 10 p.m. Jan. 20 only on E!, each 30-minute episode of CHASING THE SATURDAYS will be filled with music, laughs, drama, glamour and fun as the five young women navigate their way through the U.S. star-making machinery. From signing with renowned music label Mercury Records on their debut US album and promoting their latest single - "What About Us" - to settling into a new and vibrant city, and dealing with husbands and lovers back in the UK, The Saturdays handle it all with spirit, humor and their infectious personalities.
"The Saturdays are a pop phenomenon with magnetic appeal and tremendous talent, and we are excited to capture their next chapter as they win over the hearts and playlists of America," said Kolb. Meet The Saturdays
· Mollie King is a princess and maybe the most fashion-conscious of the group. She also has a very active - and closely followed - dating life;
· Rochelle Humes was in the group S Club Juniors with Frankie. She is a newlywed, married to Marvin Humes, a member of the boy band JLS;
· Frankie Sandford, formerly in the group S Club Juniors, has been romantically linked to Manchester City soccer star Wayne Bridge;
· Vanessa White is the youngest member of The Saturdays and the party girl of the group;
· Una Healy is the only one in the band who's not a native Londoner - she's Irish. And she recently married England national rugby union player, Ben Foden and is a new mother.
The 10-episode series Chasing The Saturdays is being produced by Comcast Entertainment Studios. Peter Engel ("Saved By the Bell," "Last Comic Standing"), Albert Spevak ("Extraordinary Minds," "Chuck Berry: Hail, Hail Rock 'n' Roll"), Perry Dance, Ted Iredell ("Making The Band"), Peter Loraine and Jay James ("Ice Loves Coco") are Executive Producers.
