Neil Diamond stopped by this morning's TODAY to perform his new single 'Something Blue,' as well as his classic "Sweet Caroline." The singer revealed that contrary to popular belief, his 1969 hit was about more than daughter of President JFK, Caroline Kennedy.
"I was writing a song in Memphis, Tennessee, for a session. I needed a three-syllable name. The song was about my wife at the time - her name was Marsha - and I couldn't get a 'Marsha' rhyme," revealed Diamond. Check out the clips below!
Neil Diamond's new album, "Melody Road" marks his first original studio release in six years and his first since signing with Capitol Records. Acclaimed producers Don Was and Jacknife Lee co-produced the album.
