Professional golfer and 2012 Masters champion Bubba Watson said today that Tiger Woods is "the guy to beat" in the upcoming Masters tournament next weekend, in an interview that was broadcast live today, April 3, 2013 on CBS THIS MORNING on the CBS Television Network (7:00 AM-9:00 AM). Check out the appearance below!
Watson told co-hosts Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell that in terms of his own preparations for the tournament, "Right now, stuff just hasn't went my way."
Excerpts from the interview are below.
ROSE: Bubba Watson returns to the Masters next week, and we're pleased to have him here this morning. So two golf questions. How is your game, and what do you think about all the speculation about Tiger being back and this may be his Masters?
WATSON: I'm playing pretty good. Obviously I haven't won yet. I'm always thinking winning. But you know, golf is so tough. The ball has to bounce your way, you have to make key putts. Right now, stuff just hasn't went my way.
ROSE: Do you know why?
WATSON: I think because golf is hard. I think we've all tried to play it. It's pretty hard. But if you look at Tiger, obviously he's trending the right way. He's putting pretty well, controlling his golf ball, his mental game, his life off the course is getting better, he's healthy, his new swing is working. So he's the guy to beat.
