Lady Gaga soared to new heights at the launch party for her new album ARTPOP. The always surprising pop star donned a high-tech, battery powered dress, designed by Nancy Tilbury, which lifted her approximately 70 inches inside a building at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Sunday night. Check out the video!
According to the Associated Press, Gaga explained that the space apparatus was "maybe a small step for Volantis" (the name she christened the contraption) but "a big-time step" for her. She added that it was intended to represent the future and its youth.
"I wanted to make today about something even more important to me, and that something is the youth of the world," Gaga said. "Their minds are just so boundless. They're just so inspiring."
Speaking on the Volantis, the 'Applause' singer shared, "Although she is a vehicle, she is essentially a metaphor for me. I will be a vehicle today for their voices."
