Many of America's largest corporations shift a surprising portion of their profits overseas to avoid paying taxes. Even more surprisingly, that's a legal thing to do.

Presenting a satirical look at the week in news, politics and current events, as well as addressing broader issues, the Emmy®-winning LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER continues its fifth season SUNDAY, APRIL 8 (11:05-11:40 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Topics include EPA head Scott Pruitt's alleged ethics violations, Hungary's parliamentary election and pregnancy crisis centers.

The show is also available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and partners' streaming platforms. The series has been renewed through 2020.

LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER is the only weekly news-oriented comedy series to be presented on Sunday night. Taped in New York a few hours before it debuts on HBO, the show features Oliver's topical commentary.

In 2017, LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER received four Primetime Emmys®, including Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, Outstanding Interactive Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.

In 2016, it received three Primetime Emmys®, including Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming. In 2015, the show received an Emmy® in the category of Outstanding Interactive Program.

LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER is executive produced by John Oliver, Tim Carvell, Liz Stanton, Jon Thoday and James Taylor; director, Paul Pennolino.
