Presenting a satirical look at the week in news, politics and current events, as well as addressing broader issues, the Emmy-winning LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER continues its fourth season SUNDAY, APRIL 2 (11:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. This week's topics include Rep. Devin Nunes and the ongoing "Stupid Watergate" investigation; the U.K's divisive departure from the European Union and the problems posed by conflicting federal and state marijuana laws. The show is the only weekly news-oriented comedy series to be presented on Sunday night. Taped in New York a few hours before it debuts on HBO, the show features a mix of Oliver's topical commentary, pre-taped pieces and occasional guests.
In 2016, LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER received three Primetime Emmys®, including Outstanding Variety Talk Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.
In 2015, the show received an Emmy® in the category of Outstanding Interactive Program. The show was honored at the 21st Critics Choice Awards in the category of Best Talk Show, and received a Peabody Award, as well as Writers Guild Award in the category of Comedy/Variety (Including Talk)?-?Series.
