Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter-performer-producer-actress-activist, Janelle Monáe, returned to The Late Show stage last night as the lead talk guest and performer. The global superstar sat down with host Stephen Colbert to discuss her critically-acclaimed third album, DIRTY COMPUTER, the accompanying tour, her iconic "PYNK" pants, Barack Obama, and more. Following the interview, Monáe enlists Colbert for his first impromptu dance party atop The Late Show desk. The special moment paid homage to Janelle's previous appearance on the show, where she danced on top of then-host's, David Letterman's desk during her electrifying performance of "Dance Apocalyptic."
Monáe later takes the stage for a powerful debut performance of her politically-charged anthem, "Americans." The captivating moment features Janelle surrounded by a group of diverse dancers and singers, including a special guest appearance from critically-acclaimed POSE star, MJ Rodriguez. The performance concludes with Janelle and the performers wrapping themselves in an American flag designed by PROJECT RUNWAY Season 11 and Project All Stars Season 5 contestant, Layana Aguilar.
