Below, check out the trailer for PALO ALTO, written by James Franco and directed by Gia Coppola. The film is playing today at Telluride and will hit Venice's Horizons on Monday, September 2.
Coppola, who is the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, wrote the screenplay based on The Collection of short stories written by James Franco. Franco also stars in the drama that follows a group of teenagers making their way through High School in the suburbs. Emma Roberts, Nat Wolff, Jack Kilmer and Val Kilmer also star.
Franco writes of the project: "The book is a compilation of short fictional stories inspired by High School experiences and growing up in Palo Alto, California. For this project, I have invited the talented up and coming filmmakers Nina Ljeti, Vladimir Bourdeau, Bruce Thierry Cheung, and Gabriel Demeestere to adapt and direct some of my short stories into three different feature films: Memoria, Killing Animals, and Yosemite. "
