Former Secretary of State and CBS News Contributor Condoleezza Rice said today that Russia's decision to provide temporary asylum for NSA leaker Edward Snowden is "a slap in The Face to the United States of America," in an interview that was broadcast today, August 9, 2013, on CBS This Morning (7:00-9:00 AM) on the CBS Television Network.

Rice told co-host Charlie Rose that she supported President Obama's decision to cancel his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, "There's nothing to talk about. She added, "We have very few overlapping interests any longer with Russia."

Rice also discussed the embassy closings across The Middle East.

"It is a very clear warning that we are not done with the war on terror," she told Rose. "When you say, al-Qaeda is on the run - they're not. Al-Qaeda has morphed into something different. We have to have the staying power, both psychologically and in actuality to continue to be vigilant so that we don't experience another major attack."

Chris Licht is the Vice President of Programming, CBS News, and Executive Producer of CBS THIS MORNING.
