Entertainment Tonight recently caught up with MAGIC MIKE's Channing Tatum at San-Diego Comic-Con, where the star opened up on the upcoming sequel to Steven Soderbergh's 2012 hit. With the script nearly wrapped, Tatum confirmed he's a little bit shocked by just how "very different" the follow-up is turning out to be. Check out what he had to say below!
MAGIC MIKE 2 hits theaters on July 3, 2015.
Set in the world of male strippers, the original Magic Mike starred Channing Tatum in a story inspired by his real life. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.
The original film MAGIC MIKE, hit theaters in 2012 and earned a whopping $114 million at the box office. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Reid Carolin, screenwriter for the new film, is currently working on a 'spin-off' of the movie, which he plans to bring to Broadway as a new musical. "We are working on it as a Broadway show, which would be a different story, more of a romp, more of a fun night out at a club with a story," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm almost more excited about that than the movie because I think it's the perfect thing for women to go see on Broadway, to be participants in the show."Videos
