In his new comedy “Rock the Kasbah,” Bill Murray plays an American music manager guiding a girl through Afghanistan’s version of “American Idol.” Murray tells Matt Lauer that the film is inspired by actual incidents, and says that rock star Cat Stevens, a Muslim, approves of the film. He calls “Groundhog Day” (seriously) “a really great film” and “Ghostbusters” (jokingly) “a powerful emotional statement,” but thinks that “Kasbah” may be his best film.
