In an exclusive live interview on TODAY, Sen. Bernie Sanders tells Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer that his campaign is “generating excitement” that makes him, not Hillary Clinton, the best Democratic White House candidate.
He defends his record on gun control, saying he has a D minus rating from the NRA. He says that he will rally the American people “around issues they support” such as raising the minimum wage. Asked whether his self-applied label as a “Democratic socialist” is scary to some voters, he says that once the voters are educated that his policies benefit all voters, not just the very rich, they will be more comfortable.
