Tony nominee and GIRLS star Andrew Rannells stopped by this morning's GMA to talk with Lara Spencer about the fifth season of the HBO series. Watch the appearance below!
Later, Rannells spoke about his brief stint in the role of King George the III in the Broaday hit HAMILTON. "I was just filling in for my friend Jonathan Groff. I came in for five weeks and it was just the craziest, fastest... I just got dropped into a huge hit and then had to leave!," says the actor. Watch the appearance below!
Andrew Rannells can currently be seen on HBO's hit series "Girls," from producers Lena Dunham and Judd Apatow, which is currently in its 5th season. On the big screen, Rannells starred in The Intern alongside Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway and Bachelorette alongside Kirsten Dunst, Rebel Wilson and Lizzy Caplan. He will also be seen in the upcoming film, Why Him? starring Bryan Cranston and James Franco.
Rannells is best known for his breakout role as Elder Price in Broadway's smash hit musical THE BOOK OF MORMON, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone of "South Park" fame along with Robert Lopez of Avenue Q.
The Book of Mormon received 9 TONY AWARDS including Best Musical at the 65th annual Tony Awards. Rannells performed the hit song "I Believe" that same year. For his work in The Book of Mormon Rannells received nominations from Tony Awards, Drama Desk and the Drama League. He also won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album for the cast recording of The Book of Mormon.
His other Broadway credits include playing King George in HAMILTON, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, Bob Gaudio in JERSEY BOYS and Link Larkin in HAIRSPRAY.
