VIDEO: Advancing Dance Acts from The Cut Round of WORLD OF DANCE

Last night, The Cut round took place on NBC's "World of Dance." Find out which of the dance acts advanced below!

NBC's hit dance competition series "World of Dance" is led by a judging team of extraordinary dance superstars - Jennifer Lopez (who also serves as an executive producer), Derek Hough, NE-YO and host Scott Evans.

The series, from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Nuyorican Productions, gives dancers the platform to showcase their talents and the opportunity to receive a life-altering grand prize of $1 million.

In partnership with preeminent global dance brand World of Dance, the series brings the world's elite dancers together to compete in epic battles of artistry, precision and athleticism. Solo dancers will compete against duos and crews in an unlimited range of dance, including hip-hop, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, stomping and more.

Derion & Madison

This duo of extremely athletic dancers are known for doing the unexpected in their self-choreographed dance routines. They met while touring with Diavolo and instantly became fast friends, describing themselves as "twins separated at birth." Their unique style, technique and ability to pull off the impossible, all while MAKING IT look easy, makes them a force to be reckoned with and they're excited to take the stage by storm on this season of World of Dance.

Briar Nolet

Known for her strength, technique, and gravity defying tricks, Briar has earned various accolades including several national titles, was the face of Dance Spirit Magazine in October 2016, and is currently a series lead on the hit TV show "The Next Step." She has assisted and taught at major dance conventions, and is ambassador and guest artist to various dance-related education programs and charities. Briar hopes to inspire others along the way as she pursues her dream of taking her dance career all the way to the top -- starting with World of Dance.

Possibly one of the most popular dancers in this competition, Poppin John has amassed over 200 million views across his many videos on YouTube! Countless competitors have learned how to Pop from watching his videos, and he gets to travel the world, teaching people how to master his craft. Poppin John is known and respected in the dance community worldwide, but has come to WORLD OF DANCE to make his name a household one.

VPeepz

Division: Junior Team

Hometown: Manila, Philippines

Ages: 12-17

Style: Hip-Hop

This group has defended their Regional and National title at the Hip-Hop International Philippines two times since 2016. VPeepz has become a household name in the Philippines dance community, setting the standards for excellence for junior teams in the country. VPeepz has also been awarded the prestigious Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honors) for three straight years, a state recognition given by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts under the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

The Crazy 8's

Don't let their cuteness fool you, because these dancers have won first place awards at conventions and competitions nationwide. They are known for their action-packed routines with crazy tricks and never-before-seen moments, combined with precision and strong technical skills. Despite their young age, this group of powerhouses is not to be underestimated.

Dancetown Divas

Division: Junior Team

Hometown: Miami, FL

Members: 15

Ages: 12-15

Style: Ballroom

The Dancetown Divas, put together by choreographer Manny Castro, originate from the same Miami dance studio as WORLD OF DANCE alumni Miami All-Stars and D'Angelo & Amanda from Season 1 and Jonas & Ruby and The Untouchables from Season 2. Individually, these girls have accomplished a lot, and they're looking to prove that they belong on the big stage.
