The all-new Live Cross Battles begin next Monday on THE VOICE, Monday, April 15 (8/7c) on NBC.
The Live Cross Battles begin. In the all-new, game-changing round of competition, artists from opposing teams will compete head-to-head live for America's vote. For the first time in "VOICE" history, coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will select artists from their team in real time to compete against artist from other teams. Eight pairs of 16 artists will perform, and each artist will perform an individual song. Carson Daly ("TODAY Show") hosts.

Andrew comes from a large Greek and Italian family where everyone loves to sing. Three years ago, he tried an open mic night and convinced himself to take music more seriously. He planned to move to Nashville, but two weeks before the move, his father and grandmother were diagnosed with cancer. Andrew immediately abandoned his plans and stayed home to prioritize his family. Soon after, Andrew met his girlfriend, Katie, and her 2-year-old son. Andrew strives to be a good role model for his girlfriend's son and make his family proud by performing on "The Voice."

Carter was born into a family with old money and grew up in a life of luxury. Unfortunately, due to poor management and the crash of 2008, the longtime fortune was depleted. When he was 14 years old, Carter's family moved into a motel and the dramatic lifestyle change profoundly affected his childhood. Music became the only thing that could lift his spirits. Carter's cousin started inviting him to church where he realized music could be more than just a hobby. Carter currently is a full-time musician and performs at gigs around town.

Karen Galera, 19

Resident: Dallas, Texas
Karen grew up in the church and lived in Mexico until her family moved to Texas when she was just 4 years old. Her childhood wasn't easy and when her parents later got divorced, Karen and her older brother, Erick, stayed with their mom. Erick quickly became her rock and father figure and helped shape her interest in music by introducing her to different genres. Erick eventually left home to join the military and Karen and her mother moved into transitional housing until her mom could get back on her feet. Karen currently works full time as a staffing coordinator for a job recruitment company.

Kayslin Victoria, 16

Hometown: Raleigh, North Carolina
Resident: Clermont, Florida
Kayslin's interest in music comes from her parents, who both pursued music in their youth. At 9, Kayslin shocked everyone when she sang Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" at a karaoke bar. At 10, she was named the Child Star of Tomorrow at the Apollo Theater in New York. Outside of her musical pursuits, Kayslin keeps herself busy with school and a local horse rescue where she volunteers.

Resident: Chicago, Illinois
Oliv grew up in a musical household but didn't consider a musical career until high school when she took an Industry of Music class. Out of high school, she joined a music collective called Freesole, which was a group of singers, rappers and producers that put on variety shows around town. Being able to work with such an eclectic group of musicians really helped Oliv discover her own artistry. Currently, Oliv is a full-time musician who plays solo shows at venues around Chicago.

Selkii, 31

Hometown: Durban, South Africa
Resident: Orlando, Florida
Selkii was born and raised in South Africa and has always loved music and the ocean. From scuba diving to surfing, she could always be found in her wetsuit, which is where she gets her nickname "Selkii," meaning Seal. She found a way to combine her love for the ocean and music by performing gigs on cruise ships. She met her husband on board and after getting married, she decided to take a break from the cruise circuit to focus on her music. Selkii and her husband dream of traveling the entire U.S. together in an RV.
