VIDEO: Aaron Sorkin & Cast of 'West Wing' Talk Show's Influence on HAMILTON

Aaron Sorkin reunited with the cast of his long-running television drama series THE WEST WING on this morning's TODAY and spoke about their enthusiasm for Broadway's 11-time Tony winning musical Hamilton and its creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

"There's no bigger Sorkin freak than Lin-Manuel Miranda," revealed the cast members, adding "[The West Wing] inspired Hamilton." The political drama ran on NBC from 1999 to 2006, and took audiences into the offices of White House staffers working for the fictitious Josiah Bartlet administration. Over the course of its run, the show won legions of fans and four consecutive Emmy awards for outstanding drama series.

HAMILTON won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Musical along with 10 additional awards. The show opened on August 6, 2016 at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre.
