VH1 is revisiting the all-too-brief life story of urban pop icon Aaliyah in an encore presentation of "Behind the Music: Aaliyah" on Sunday, November 23rd at 6PM* and 10PM*. Aaliyah's family members participated in the original production in 2001 and her brother approved the additions made in the updated 2012 version, which will be seen on Sunday.
This installment of the Emmy Award-nominated "Behind The Music" series honors Aaliyah by giving viewers a look at the INSIDE STORY surrounding the singer, musician, composer, actress, dancer, businesswoman, role model and leader, supported by exclusive interviews with the singer's family members and closest friends.
"Behind the Music: Aaliyah" features rare and never-before-seen archive video, film and home movie footage, concert clips and songs, plus new interviews with Gladys Knight, Nelson George, boyfriend/music mogul Damon Dash, Blackground Records CEO Barry Hankerson, video director Wayne Isham and BET producer Kevin Taylor, as well as Aaliyah's brother Rashad Houghton, her high-school principal Ms. Denise Davis-Coton, her cousin Jomo Hankerson and math teacher Mark Bonder among others.
