Univision Deportes Acquires Multi-Platform Spanish-Language U.S. Media Rights

Univision Deportes, the sports arm of Univision Communications Inc., the leading media company serving Hispanic America, and Formula One Management, the top international open-wheel racing series Commercial Rights Holder, announced a multi-year partnership today that begins with the 2013 season and provides Univision Deportes exclusive Spanish-language U.S. broadcast and digital rights to all 19 Formula 1 Grand Prix races.

"We are looking forward to taking Hispanic audiences to the races and making them feel as if they are in the driver's seat," said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Deportes. "Not only will Univision Deportes follow the Hispanic racers that will be making history in the Formula One, we will showcase the sounds, the entertainment and the technology behind the world's premier open-wheel racing series. It will be pure adrenaline."

The 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship includes 19 races in 19 countries from March through November. Univision Deportes will televise all 19 F1 races live on UniMás and qualifying rounds on Univision Deportes Network. Select races will be streamed online on UnivisionDeportes.com and on the digital network UVideos.com.

The 2013 season on Univision Deportes platforms begins on Friday, March 15 with LIVE coverage of the practice sessions of the 2013 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prixon Univision Deportes Network. LIVE coverage continues on Saturday, March 16 with qualifying races on Univision Deportes Network and on Sunday, March 17 with the race airing on UniMás. The season concludes on Sunday, November 24 with the Formula 1 Grade PrêmioDo Brasil 2013. Univision Deportes will also provide LIVE coverage of the famed Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2013 on Sunday, May 26 and the highly-anticipated 2013 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix taking place in Austin, Texas on Sunday, November 17.

As the home of the Formula 1 for U.S. Hispanics, throughout the season Univision Deportes will provide comprehensive coverage of Formula 1 Grand Prix races, including reports on qualifying sessions, pre-race and practice sessions, and of the drivers, including Sergio "Checo" Perez of Mexico, Pastor Maldonado of Venezuela and Esteban Gutierrez of Mexico. Special guests and motorsports experts for the race broadcasts will further enhance Univision Deportes' coverage, including Antonio Pérez Garibay and Antonio Pérez.
