Thomas Sadoski, Thandie Newton, Melissa George, Peter Sarsgaard, Mary-Louise Parker, Zachary Quinto, and Brian Cox are also in the cast.

The series "centers on the fallout after a man slaps another couple's misbehaving child at a family barbeque. This small event sparks a massive family dispute that exposes secrets, prompts a lawsuit and tears the family apart."

Thurman will play 'Anouk,' described as "a TV writer who is dating her show's young leading man," played by Penn Badgley.

From writer Jon Robin Baitz ("Brothers & Sisters"), Executive Producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald ("Gladiator," "Men in Black" franchise) and Director Lisa Cholodenko ("The Kids Are All Right"), comes this unflinching look at how one little slap... can have a huge impact.

Thurman is set to reprise her role in Kill Bill: Vol. 3 and will appear as Anita Bryant in the upcoming film Anita. Among her recent film credits are Nymphomaniac: Vol. 1 & II and Bel Ami. She also appeared in NBC's musical drama SMASH.
