As Necessary Roughness enters its third season, USA Network is debuting TK Gets Real, a webisode series focused on Terrance "TK" King (Mehcad Brooks), the Hawk's star receiver who is on a quest to become a reality star. Fans will get a window into TK's personal life that dovetails with the on-air storyline as he looks to extend his reputation beyond football this season. He enlists the help of former Bravo "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Shereé Whitfield, along with Dr. Dani's new assistant Paloma (Karissa Lee Staples), to stir up some drama and create a sizzle reel to dazzle Hollywood. The six-week experience launches on Wednesday, June 19, along with a second screen sync, which fans can access at usanetwork.com/necessaryroughness.
Fans can watch TK's progress as he gets some guidance from Whitfield along with other members of the
Necessary Roughness cast. As each video ends, fans will help Paloma create the marketing materials for TK's
Reality Show pitch and then share their creations on their favorite social channels. They'll be able to fashion a tagline for his show and craft language for his billboards and promotions.
Throughout the season,
USA will offer an enhanced second screen experience at sync.usanetwork.com as viewers watch each episode of NECESSARY ROUGHNESS. They can learn new facts about the show, see guest stars bios, and unlock behind-the-scenes photos and commentary.
Season three, which premiered on Wednesday, June 12 at 10/9c, picks up six months after the New York Hawks playoff run at the end of season two. With big changes at the team, Dr. Dani (Callie Thorne), and Matt (Marc Blucas) are forced to reconsider their future with the franchise and TK (Mehcad Brooks) struggles under a new coach. After a long absence Nico (Cohen) resurfaces and introduces Dr. Dani to the seductive Connor McClane (John Stamos) who, along with Troy Cutler (Anders), runs the powerful sports and entertainment management agency V3. Based on her success with TK and the New York Hawks, Dr. Dani is offered a new job at V3 that could launch her to the next professional level, but at what cost? Helping Dani to balance her work and personal life is new assistant Paloma (Karissa Lee Staples).
Created and executive produced by Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro ("Miami Medical"). Kevin Dowling ("Go On") also serves as executive producer. Inspired by a true story,
Necessary Roughness is a Sony Pictures Television and Universal Cable Productions co-production.
