The USA network will not be ordering additional episodes of POLITICAL ANIMALS.  The series, starring Sigourney Weaver, performed poorly in the ratings, averaging 3.2 million viewers during its time on the air.

"We are proud of POLITICAL ANIMALS, our miniseries that attracted critical acclaim and impacted the cultural conversation this summer," the network said told TVLine.com. "It was a pleasure to work with Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark and a powerful cast led by Sigourney Weaver. We look forward to collaborating again with these immensely talented creatives."

Creator Greg Berlanti released a statement on Twitter in which he said the show was “one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life." He added, “The cast, the crew, writers, studio and USA were all a dream to work with. We all got to make what we set out to. Couldn’t be more proud!”

POLITICAL ANIMALS explored the nuanced and complex world of politics through the lens of a family who has experienced its highs and lows. The project also starred Carla Gugino ("Entourage"), James Wolk ("Shameless"), Sebastian Stan ("Gossip Girl"), Brittany Ishibashi ("The Mentalist") with Ellen Burstyn ("Requiem for a Dream") and Ciarán Hinds ("Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy").
