USA Network is set to reboot Temptation Island, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
USA has handed out a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for a reboot of the controversial dating series. The show's original host, Mark L. Walberg, will return for the revival. The new series will launch Tuesday, January 15 at 10 p.m.
Temptation Island will follow couples at a time when they are forced to decide if they're ready to commit to one another for the rest of their lives or split. The couples will travel to Maui where they will join 24 eligible men and women and live the "single life" in a test designed to answer challenging questions about their respective relationships.
Temptation Island hails from Banijay Studios North America's David Goldberg, Caroline Baumgard and Scott Jeffress, who all executive produce the series.
The original Temptation Island lasted on FOX for three seasons on Fox. The series sparked controversy right off the bat after one of its central couples had children together and were removed.
"As cable's No. 1 entertainment network for 12 years and running, USA is home to some of the most-talked about shows on TV," NBCU Cable entertainment networks president Chris McCumber said. "Our reboot of Temptation Island is sure to spark intrigue, debate and conversation for a whole new generation of viewers."
