What show other than UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER can administer a weekly dose of medical mayhem, like tandem skydivers impaled together on a fence post, or a woman stuck in a toilet bowl for 18 hours? In case you missed these stories and more, we're preempting the return of all-new episodes of UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER with the CRAZIEST CASES special tonight, November 7 at 10/9c, hosted by featured ER doctor Nicole Jasper who "resuscitates' some of the series' most visually incredible cases from the past nine seasons. With hundreds of stories to choose from, these are the ones that the doctors consider their craziest yet, such as: a man with a live catfish stuck in his throat; a woman with a stiletto in her cheek; a man with a camping stove strongly attached to his privates; a man with a turtle clamped to his throat; and a man wheeled into the ER with a two-inch pole impaled through his head.
Then, the 100th episode kicks off all-new episodes, beginning Friday, November 14 at 10/9c. In the premiere, Dr. Klauer deals with a woman who has taken medical procedures into her own hands and shocked herself with a defibrillator, while also managing a man with a shovel impalement in the most uncomfortable place... his perineum. Then, Dr. Carrier deals with a DEA agent whose cardiac arrest causes seizures, as well as angry outbursts that lead to him accidentally apprehending a nurse. Finally, Dr. Holmes has a patient with unexplained internal bleeding - from both ends. He discovers that a parasitic infection is making his patient ill and he's sure it's from something the patient ate. But with his frat buddies surrounding him and sworn to secrecy, will the patient reveal what they all ingested as part of a fraternity pledge before someone else gets sick?
Other stories airing throughout the rest of the season nine run include: a man run over by a boat; a woman whose finger is stuck in a blender; a slew of naked, hallucinating teenagers; a patient struggling to breathe because her face is covered in plaster from an art project gone wrong; a man poisoned with antifreeze by his girlfriend; and a variety of amusing, intoxicated patients.
In an environment where everything can change as quickly as the rip of a Band-Aid, witness the true, dramatic nature of medicine practiced under pressure - where nothing about the situation is routine and doctors have mere seconds to answer life-or-death questions. Unusual, touching, humorous, or life-changing, UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER demonstrates the scope of work achieved by ER doctors in a "typical" day that includes many twists and turns and show how character and quick thinking can make the ultimate difference on both sides of the operating table.
