Monica Barbaro has been cast in TOP GUN: MAVERICK, according to Variety. Paramount-Skydance's film currently stars join Tom Cruise and Miles Teller. Barbaro will be playing Teller's love interest in the film.
Barbaro tested with Teller last week and was chosen by the studio from the several actresses in the running.
TOP GUN: MAVERICK will be set in a world of drone technology and will explore the end of the era of dogfighting, with Cruise portraying a flight instructor.
Joe Kosinski is directing the film, which is a sequel to the 1986 original "Top Gun." Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the first film, will produce with Cruise and Skydance CEO David Ellison.
Val Kilmer will also reprise his role as Tom "Iceman" Kazansky in the sequel
TOP GUN: MAVERICK is set to be released on July 12, 2019.
Barbaro is best known for playing a contestant on Season 2 of "Unreal." This film will be her first major film project.
