Ty Burrell and Wife Holly Adopt a Baby

According to EW.com, Broadway veteran Ty Burrell and his wife Holly have adopted a baby girl.

On the topic of fatherhood, Burrell said that one of his favorite aspects of playing Phil Dunphy in the popular sitcom is how much the character cares about his kids. "He's not necessarily good at the things that he does," he laughs, "but he really tries hard!"

Burrell can be seen every week on ABC's hit comedy 'Modern Family' as father, Phil Dunphy.  Some of his earlier work includes appearances in the movies Black Hawk Down, the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead.  His stage credits include 2000's Broadway production of Macbeth, the off-broadway plays Corners, The Blue Demon, and Burn This. Burrell's stage work also includes writing and working in the off-Broadway play Babble with his brother, Duncan. He has also made an appearance as a probation officer in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
