NBC has dominated the ratings week of Aug. 21-27 among the Big 4 networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49, as well as total viewers, led by the #1, 2 and 3 primetime shows of the week on those nets in both categories, Tuesday's "America's Got Talent," Wednesday's "Talent" and Sunday's NBC Sports coverage of 49ers-Vikings NFL preseason football, according to "live plus same day" figures from Nielsen Media Research.
The two editions of "Talent" and Sunday football teamed with Monday's "American Ninja Warrior" (tied for #8) and Thursday's "Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update" (tied for #8) to account for five of the week's ten highest-rated primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. Also placing in the week's top 15 were Wednesday's 9 p.m. "Marlon" (tied for #11) and Tuesday's "Hollywood Game Night" (tied for #11). Sports pre- and post-game shows are excluded from these rankings. This is NBC's tenth straight weekly win in 18-49 and the network has taken seven in a row and nine of ten in total viewers. Counting just entertainment programming, NBC won the week in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, marking the 14th straight week NBC has finished as the #1 network in entertainment programming (excluding live news and sports) in 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers, NBC also ranked #1 and has won 13 of the last 14 weeks in entertainment-program ratings.Videos
