Tribune Broadcasting today announced that it has entered into an agreement with the Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) for the renewal of its six expiring affiliation agreements for Tribune-owned television stations in Seattle (KCPQ-TV), Hartford (WTIC-TV), Indianapolis (WXIN-TV), Sacramento (KXTL-TV), Grand Rapids (WXMI-TV) and Harrisburg (WPMT-TV). Specific financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with FOX,” said Tribune Broadcasting President Nils Larsen. “The FOX network’s high-quality primetime entertainment programming and live sports coverage, combined with Tribune’s expanded local news provides viewers in our FOX markets with the best that television has to offer.”

Larsen continued, “With this deal, Tribune now joins FOX affiliates nationwide in recognizing the network’s substantial value, and supporting it with a long-term commitment to pay programming fees to FOX. Our distribution partners in particular will benefit from Tribune’s continued FOX affiliation and we look forward to working with them to ensure the ongoing health of local television in their markets.”

FOX Executive Vice President for Network Distribution Jon Hookstratten said, “Supporting our broadcast affiliates with America’s best entertainment and sports programming remains a top priority for FOX. We rely on Tribune to promote and deliver FOX to local viewers alongside Tribune’s own local newscasts and innovative original programming.”
