Deadline reports that Trevor Einhorn is the latest actor to sign on to the cast of ABC's upcoming 3-hour reboot of DIRTY DANCING. The actor will take on the role of Neil Kellerman, heir to the 1960's Catskills resort Kellermans, the setting for the story.
Played by Lonny Price in the original 1987 film, Neil is described as "skinny, awkward and tightly wound. But what he lacks in charm and tact he makes up for with his earnestness, gallantry and progressive views. He also takes an immediate interest in Baby (Abigail Breslin), which her father (Bruce Greenwood) strongly supports, much to Baby's embarrassment. Neil has a good grasp of his grandfather's business and is ready to try and keep Kellerman's alive through the second half of the century."
ABC's Dirty Dancing remake will follow Baby's summer vacation with her parents and sister at Kellermans Catskills resorts. During the trip, she falls in love with Johnny (Cole Prattes), the resort's charismatic dance instructor. Sarah Hyland, Nicole Scherzinger and Debra Messing will also co-star.
Einhorn's other TV credits include Mad Men, Sons & Daughters and Frasier.
