What happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas in Travel Channel's new original six-part series, VEGAS STRIPPED, which premieres with special back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, February 8 at 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. From preparing massive volumes of food for 9,000 event attendees to overseeing a security team equal to a mid-sized town's police force, viewers will get an exclusive all-access pass to the inner workings of South Point Casino in each half-hour episode.
Located five miles off the popular Las Vegas strip, the 4.2 million square foot hotel resort casino has the challenge of bringing guests from the hustle and bustle, and keeping them at South Point to continue their Vegas vacation. To stay afloat, South Point needs 15,000 gamblers to walk through their doors every day! And their way of doing so is by hosting over-the-top spectacular events such as a jousting competition for 3,000 medieval fanatics or a rodeo for hundreds of rowdy cowboys watching their favorite professional bull riders hang on a bull for dear life. Running these events is a high-stakes operation whose success depends on a lot of people sweating the small stuff. The "Vegas Stripped" audience will be immersed in the daily challenge of making South Point a profitable, fun, glitzy glamorous destination, watching as each and every obstacle unfolds.
In the premiere episode at 10:00 p.m., Tom Mikovitz, Director of Marketing, is tasked with making sure the 9,000 attendees of the annual Fetish & Fantasy Ball enjoy themselves to the fullest, and more importantly, continue the party by bringing their money to the casino floor. While Flo Sirna, Arena Booking Manager, ensures all participants of the mechanical riding banana and rock climbing wall sign waivers, Grace Saulog-Tainatongo, a security officer, keeps order throughout the premises including enforcing the Clark County code that casino guests are dressed appropriately - at a party where more skin is welcomed and encouraged!
In the second all-new episode at 10:30 p.m., the South Point staff prepares for two different events: a gourmet food truck festival and a celebrity poker tournament. While the team is attempting to launch the biggest festival of gourmet food trucks ever assembled in Las Vegas, General Manager Ryan Growney, questions whether the event is fiscally irresponsible. Because the festival takes place in the parking lot, this does not expose new patrons to the casino floor. Further, the festival begins to take casino guests outside - away from their gambling seats! Meanwhile, South Point is hosting a celebrity poker tournament to raise money for First Tee, a charity that helps 45,000 underprivileged kids in Las Vegas learn valuable life skills by teaching them golf. The presence of celebrities at South Point gives the casino a needed public relations boost to compete with the bigger and more regularly-frequented casinos on the strip. If the celebrities have a positive experience, their fan base will hear about South Point and may endorse the casino themselves.
