Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer, and recording artist Leslie Uggams will appear on "The Good Wife" this Sunday, November 13 at 9 pm Eastern, 8 pm Central time. Uggams guest stars on the Emmy nominated CBS drama as the upscale mother of two sons, one a Wall Street broker, the other a convicted murderer sentenced to death row. The episode is titled "Here Comes Santa."

"I'm thrilled to be doing this guest appearance on ‘The Good Wife,'" says Uggams. "Not only is it a great role, but it's on one of my favorite television shows. My character's storyline is very dramatic. The son who's in prison can help solve a murder, so there is a chance that he'll get a stay of execution. The law firm of Lockhart Gardner, where ‘the good wife' works, becomes involved in that process."

"The Good Wife" stars Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies, Emmy nominee Josh Charles, Tony and Emmy Award winner Christine Baranski, Emmy Award winner Archi Panjabi, Emmy nominee and Olivier Award winner Alan Cumming, and Matt Czuchry. Golden Globe nominee Chris Noth is also featured. The show is ranked consistently in the Top 20 with more than 11 million viewers weekly.

Most recently Uggams had a guest starring role on TNT's "Memphis Beat" playing the mother of Lt. Tanya Rice (Alfre Woodard). She has also been touring nationally with her autobiographical solo show "Uptown/Downtown" (LA Drama Critics Circle Award, NAACP Theatre Award, IRNE Award, BroadwayWorld People's Choice Award) which chronicles her extraordinary career in stories and song.

Uggams made her musical theater debut starring in Broadway's "Hallelujah, Baby!" earning both Tony and Theater World awards. Since then she has starred on Broadway in "Jerry's Girls," "Anything Goes" at the Lincoln Center Theatre (also the first national tour), "King Headley II" with Brian Stokes Mitchell (Tony Award nomination), "Thoroughly Modern Millie," and most recently "On Golden Pond" opposite James Earl Jones. Off-Broadway Uggams has won Audelco Awards for several highly praised star turns including "The Old Settler," Keb Mo's blues musical "Thunder Knocking on the Door," and most recently "First Breeze of Summer" at the acclaimed Signature Theater. Regional roles include A Little Night Music at Michigan Opera Theatre, The Rink at the Cape Playhouse, Hello, Dolly! at Houston's Theater Under the Stars, Master Class at TheaterFest in New Jersey, and Call Me Madam and Blue at Paper Mill Playhouse, NJ.
