Emmy award-winning ESPN producer Tom Engle has joined Golf Channel as coordinating producer for Morning Drive, the network's daily morning lifestyle and news program. The hire was announced today by Molly Solomon, Golf Channel executive producer.

"We are thrilled to have Tom's production expertise and passion for golf leading the Morning Drive team," said Solomon. "His extensive studio experience and leadership will drive our team to continue to deliver high-quality content for our network every morning of the week."

An avid golfer who carries a six-handicap and a low round of 68, Engle will oversee production and day-to-day planning for Morning Drive, joining producers Kyle Brown and Aaron Bearden. He will report directly to Adam Hertzog, Golf Channel's vice president of news and studio productions.

Engle is a six-time Emmy winner at ESPN, most recently serving as co-producer for ESPN's College GameDay football and lead producer for College GameDay basketball news franchises. He also worked on ESPN's golf production team for more than 10 years, covering multiple U.S. Open Championships, Masters Tournaments and Open Championships, along with numerous PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events.

A graduate of Ohio State University, Engle was a second round draft pick by the New York Mets in the 1989 Major League Baseball draft. He pitched at every level of the Mets organization, from Rookie League to AAA.

Engle and his family will relocate from Farmington, Conn. to Orlando.
