Tiffany Haddish Joins the Cast of Warner Bros. Animations' THE LEGO MOVIE 2  Image

According to Variety, Tiffany Haddish is on board to voice a character in Warner Bros. Animations' "The Lego Movie 2."

"Trolls" director Mike Mitchell has been tapped to direct the pic. Producers are "Lego Movie" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, along with Dan Lin and Roy Lee. Jill Wilfert from Lego Group, Chris McKay, and Jinko Gotoh are executive producing.

The plot and details of Haddish's character are being kept under wraps.

"The Lego Movie 2" will open on Feb. 8, 2019. "The Lego Movie" grossed nearly $470 million worldwide in 2014 amid strong support from critics and fans.

Haddish's first break was a spot on the comedy competition Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes? She has made guest appearances on such shows as Chelsea Lately, That's So Raven, My Name Is Earl, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Underground, Nick Cannon's Short Circuitz, @midnight, Just Jordan, In the Motherhood, Def Comedy Jam, Reality Bites Back and New Girl. She has also starred in movies such as Meet the Spartans and Janky Promoters. In 2013, she had a recurring role on Real Husbands of Hollywood. In 2014, Haddish was cast in the OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK series If Loving You Is Wrong.She left the soap after the first season for a regular role on the NBC sitcom THE CARMICHAEL SHOW where she starred as Nekeisha, the semi-estranged wife of Bobby Carmichael (Lil Rel Howery), for three seasons.

In 2016, she co-starred opposite Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key in the comedy film Keanu in the role of Hi C. Haddish starred alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall in the comedy film Girls Trip for Universal Pictures. In the Chicago Tribune, Katie Walsh wrote, "this is Haddish's movie, and will make her a star. It's clear from the moment she hits the screen."
