Bridget Jones is having a baby, and the third film is set for its final push.
According to the Daily Mail, the third installment of the BRIDGET JONES series will begin filming this fall. Although Hugh Grant has publically stated that he will not be a part of the film, original stars Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth are on board.
Co-chairman of Working Title, Eric Fellman, told the website, "We are keen to try to make it later this year, but there's still nothing definite yett." He added: "If the script and all our deals with the actors fall into place, then this one will be up and running."
Sharon Maguire, who directed BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY back in 2001, will also be directing the third picture. In addition to assembling her cinematographer and other key crew, and doing some location-hunting, she and Fellner have had extensive meetings with Ms Zellweger and Firth.
Other actors from the previous Bridget films such as Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent, who played Bridget's parents, have also been contacted.
Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding based the screenplay, written initially with ONE DAY author David Nicholls, on some columns from eight years ago, not her latest novel MAD ABOUT THE BOY, in which Bridget has a few kids and Mark Darcy (Firth's character), has died.
No details have been given away yet, except that our herione (obviously) gives birth!
