The seventh annual ceremony of the Women MAKING HISTORY Awards is hosted by the National Women's History Museum (NWHM) and its Los Angeles Regional Council. The ceremony commemorates inspiring women who are making significant field-related and global contributions.
L.A. honorees for this ceremony include Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates, Gabrielle Union and activist Patrisse Cullors. The event will recognize the women for their impact in their professional feeds and also in their philantropic work.
The organization generates awareness for the NWHM by holding annual ceremonies across the nation in L.A., Washington and Atlanta. This year's L.A. event will occur on Sept. 15 at the Beverly Hilton.
In May, NWHM honored #MeToo founder Tarana Burke along with political correspondent Cokie Roberts at the D.C. ceremony. Some of the past honorees of the award include former first lady Laura Bush, Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, Maya Angelou, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Instagram COO Marne Levine.
